We are announcing a competition for the CSEPB Award, which is open to young scientists (up to 6 years after obtaining their Ph.D.). The winner will be nominated on behalf of our society to compete for the FESPB Award and also a cash prize.
Vyhlašujeme soutěž o cenu ČSEBR, které se mohou zúčastnit mladí vědci a vědkyně (do 6 let od získání Ph.D.). Vítěz bude navržen za naši společnost do soutěže o cenu FESPB a také peněžitou odměnu.
Rules of the CSEPB Award 2025 Competition
Eligibility of the competitor for the CSEPB 2025 Prize:
at the time of 25 June 2025, the time since the completion of the PhD must not be longer than 6 years (parental leave is taken into account in the calculation of this time, i.e. it is not included)
The competitor must be a member of the CSEPB at the time of applying (has paid dues for the year 2025)
The deadline for applying is 8th April 2025.
The candidates‘ ranking will be determined based on the evaluation of a committee consisting of members of the CSEPB committee and contacted experts from different fields of experimental plant biology and different departments of the Czech Republic.
The announcement of the results of the competition will be on April 22, 2025
Our society will nominate the winner of the CSEPB prize for the FESPB prize (https://fespb.org/young-scientist-fespb-award/). If the CSEPB winner succeeds in the FESPB Award, the CSEPB Award will, after consideration by the Committee, be awarded to the excellent candidate who came second in the CSEPB Award competition.
The CSEPB Award includes a cash prize of 25,000 CZK and an invited lecture at a student conference in Bratislava, including a subsidised conference fee.

All participants will receive a T-shirt and a pen with the CSEPB logo.
Pravidla soutěže o cenu ČSEBR 2025
Způsobilost soutěžícího o cenu ČSEBR 2025:
- v době 25.6.2025 nesmí být doba od ukončení PhD delší než 6 let (při výpočtu této doby se zohledňuje rodičovská dovolená tj. není do ní započítávána)
- soutěžící musí být členem/členkou ČSEBR v době podání přihlášky (má zaplacené příspěvky na rok 2025)
Termín podání přihlášky je 8. dubna.2025 (23:59)
Pořadí kandidátů bude určeno na základě hodnocení komise sestávající z členů výboru ČSEBR a oslovených expertů z různých oborů experimentální biologie rostlin a různých pracovišť ČR.
Vyhlášení výsledků soutěže bude 22. dubna 2025
Vítěz ceny ČSEBR bude nominován naší společností do soutěže o cenu FESPB (https://fespb.org/young-scientist-fespb-award/). V případě, že vítěz ČSEBR uspěje v rámci FESPB Award bude cena ČSEBR, po projednání výborem, udělena excelentnímu kandidátovi, který se umístil jako druhý v soutěži o cenu ČSEBR.
Cena ČSEBR obnáší peněžitou odměnu 25 000,- Kč; zvanou přednášku na studentské konferenci v Bratislavě, včetně dotovaného konferenčního poplatku.
Další dva v pořadí budou rovněž pozváni přednést přednášku na studentské konferenci v Bratislavě, včetně dotovaného konferenčního poplatku.
Všichni účastníci soutěže obdrží tričko a propisku s logem ČSEBR.
